Can I Afford a Lawyer?
I accept Legal Aid certificates.
If you have been charged with a crime that could send you to jail if you are found guilty, or you are between 12 and 17 years old and have been charged under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, Legal Aid Ontario may pay for your lawyer.
You can see if you qualify for legal aid here, and apply for legal aid here. You can also see what other services Legal Aid Ontario offers that may be able to help you (such as duty counsel) here.
If you do not qualify for legal aid or your issue is not covered by Legal Aid Ontario’s services then you will generally have to pay for a lawyer at your own expense.
I also offer flexible fee arrangements.
Whatever your income, I will work with you to make your defence affordable.
Hourly rates can be adjusted to your ability to pay. Block fees can be charged for specific services as and when they are required. Please don’t assume that you won’t be able to afford a lawyer. Money shouldn’t be the reason that you are denied your right to a proper defence.
